Mäkelä Alu Oy
Aluminium profile warehouse -
more power and accuracy
Mäkelä Alu Oy manufactures aluminum profiles. The traditional family business is expanding its operations to the old paper mill in Voikkaa, where a new paint shop, warehouse and dispatch center have been completed.
Talk'nPick to manage warehouse operations
“The investment has proven to be profitable on the shelfing alone”
Mäkelä Alu chose the Talk’nPick solution to streamline warehouse operations and refine balance information at the same time, as well as to manage warehouse work more efficiently.
The new premises process aluminium profiles with lengths of 4 to 7 meters. There are more than 1,000 in-warehouse locations. The work in the warehouse takes place using a team of two, with the help of a forklift.
Speech, scan or type
As a hardware solution, arm-wearable smartphones were chosen, from which the user can see work tasks no matter where in the warehouse users are.
Devoca’s Talk’nPick is an industry-independent warehouse management solution for users across diverse and demanding warehouse environments.

Warehouse development investments under control
The development resources of an SME are often limited. Investment capacity does not always include the introduction of new technology and, thus, development remains half-finished. Devoca Talk’nPick is a tool for the needs of both large and small businesses. The key premises of the solution are being economic and enabling new efficiencies for all companies.
At the heart of the solution is an application tailored to the needs of the warehouse and a smartphone that is used with a suitable combination of different interfaces. The speech recognition function, the touch screen, and the barcode readers are most commonly used. If necessary, you can also use smart glasses or even a belt-mounted printer.
